Performance of diesel is very high, because the peak torque is achieved at 2000 - 2800 rev / minute and up to 340 Nm, which guarantees the crossover to accelerate to the maximum of 185 km / h, with the dynamics of a very decent overclocking: from 0 to 100 km / h new Toyota RAF 4 accelerates in only 10 seconds. As the flagship of gasoline, diesel only comes with an automatic transmission only and is complemented by all-wheel drive. Diesel is very efficient: the average fuel consumption in the combined mode of driving should be about 6.5 liters, though in this case the data on consumption in urban and on-road manufacturer has not yet published.
I think sometimes these cars are just designed to compete with whatever the other manufacturers have available. That doesn't mean that these cars won't sell. However I don't think they sell as many as they would if they were cutting edge in terms of really meeting the needs of consumers.
